About

I hold a Masters in Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Denver where I received formal training in systems and organizational theory along with traditional psychotherapeutic modalities. Throughout my career, I’ve have been passionately committed to learning new and effective ways to help my clients make and maintain desired changes that allow them to live more balanced lives. I’ve been an avid student of the mind-body-spirit connection and have been weaving the wisdom of transpersonal psychology, integrative  health and complimentary healing techniques into my work since the early 1980’s. In 2011, when I experienced a series of life-threatening medical crises of my own, I was given the opportunity to use my tools and hone them even further towards the goal of recovering health on every level.

In 1999, I was invited to join the Employee Assistance Program team at Poudre School District. There, I’ve had the good fortune to support public educators in both a counseling setting and at an organizational level. As an organizational trainer and stress management consultant,  I developed a curriculum to teach participants the skills to develop resiliency and capacity for “Going the Distance”. This course offers concrete strategies for managing stress by teaching people how to: deactivate their bodies, manage their negative self-talk, practice mindfulness and to develop a personal toolbox for priortizing and practicing self-care. Additionally, I provided team building, conflict resolution and leadership coaching throughout the organization.

My professional toolbox is extensive. I am licensed in the state of Colorado (LCSW) and I hold Level 2 Certification in EMDR, Brainspotting, and Thought Field Therapy.  I am certified in Mindfulness and Mindful Self Compassion, Meditation Instruction, and Compassionate Listening Facilitation. Strongly inspired by the foundational roots of energy medicine, I am a Certified Level 4 Universal White Time Healing practitioner (a light energy modality), and Bio-Connection  I’m also a student of Yoga, QiGong, and QiNetics…all powerful transformational tools.

My own journey from dis-ease to wellness has transformed my work profoundly. I offer my clients a safe container for exploration of universally human topics such as end-of-life issues and the search for meaningful relationships.  As such, I am comfortable using my client’s established spiritual beliefs as a framework for creating deeper understanding and connection. In the absence of a framework, I can assist with the development of one if that is something of  interest to a client.  Learning to cultivate self compassion can be a deeply transforming and spiritual experience in and of itself. Personally, I find great joy in practicing yoga, hiking, meditation, and cooking/eating healthy foods as a mindfulness practice.

All of the tools in my toolbox are available to clients as requested (and as deemed suitable by me).  I am committed to our collaboration in the process of living self acceptance, gratitude, creativity, wellness, joy and balance…essentially, of thriving… not just surviving.

I look forward to our work together!
